My goal is to train so that I can finish Ironman Florida '14 in under 10 hours. I finished in 10:12 and 10:14 respectively in '08 and '09. I haven't finished an Ironman since. I don't train like I used to. Not even close. Don't plan on it either. But think based on experience and a base built up over several years now, it is attainable. I plan to swim in 1:10; ride 5 hours, and run 3:40. This is my journey....
p.m. 1 mile swim. Then 60 mile bike. 282w; 149bpm. 79rpm. Felt amazing. One week too late, after having had two beers last night, and McDonald's for lunch (which btw, now that I haven't had it in a while, doesn't taste that good anymore). Go figure.
Get it done, dog. Stop drinking beer for the next two weeks. And eat healthy again. You have too much fitness and this quasi-down time is probably the taper u needed before IMFL. Stay focused and pump yourself up and kick ass in IMAZ. Its a different course with different variables so don't be focused on an artificial time. Your bike at IMFL was way off your potential and it seemed like you had a minor mental lapse on the run. I would focus on executing the race and then see what time that brings. As opposed to focusing on the time. You will crush it.
