My goal is to train so that I can finish Ironman Florida '14 in under 10 hours. I finished in 10:12 and 10:14 respectively in '08 and '09. I haven't finished an Ironman since. I don't train like I used to. Not even close. Don't plan on it either. But think based on experience and a base built up over several years now, it is attainable. I plan to swim in 1:10; ride 5 hours, and run 3:40. This is my journey....

Why are you running 2 runs instead of 1 longer run. It seems that you tried this last year and it wasnt a good strategy. Shouldn't you be running one longer run. Most of the books on marathon training say that unless one is running more the 80+ miles a week there is no benefit and you are worse if you split your runs up.
but in short, i do two runs to minimize the risk of injury and reduce fatigue. i wouldn't be able to run as much as i am now without breaking up the runs, even if i am not at 80 miles yet (i was at 67 last week).
my strategy is a little different than last year; last year i barely ran. i finally seem to be able to get some good running miles in. i've also added in a long run, which i didn't do last year until much closer to the race.
