dude you are an animal & a stud. how long have you been training for tri's?
Thanks man. I signed up for and did my first Ironman in 2005 after having watched it on TV and without having done a triathlon before. However, I would say that this is only my second year of training seriously. I used to think that you had to be a great athlete to do well at triathlons and Ironman in particular. That is when I followed cookie cutter training programs and trained when I felt like it. I have subsequently learned, inadvertently when I had a terrible race in 2007, that anyone can be good at Ironman. Anyone can do it. It is just about setting a tough to achieve goal, and then doing what it takes to achieve that goal. Ironman I think serves as a great life lesson because like so many things in life, success depends on the work you are willing to put into it. I have set a goal of sub 10 because when I did my first Ironman, I thought that if you were fast, then you went sub 10.
